What Does a Graffiti Shop Have to Do With Welding? Meet Machine Studio in Las Vegas
If you're heading to FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas, you're probably making a list of welding machines, fabrication equipment, tools, consumables and booths you want to visit.
But I have another stop you might want to add to the list.
It's not a welding supply house.
It's not a fabrication shop.
It's not one of the giant manufacturers exhibiting at FABTECH.
It's a graffiti supply shop.
And honestly, it makes a lot more sense for welders than you might think.
Meet Machine Studio
Machine Studio is a graffiti supply and custom sticker business located at 700 E Sahara Ave. in Las Vegas, about 10 minutes from the Las Vegas Convention Center depending on traffic. The store specializes in graffiti supplies, spray paint, markers, stencils and custom stickers.
At first glance, that might seem like a strange recommendation for someone attending the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event in North America.
But spend a little time around welders and metal artists and the connection becomes pretty obvious.
Welders are artists.
Fabricators are artists.
Metal artists are artists.
And a surprising amount of what we do involves drawing, marking, lettering, designing and putting our personal stamp on the things we make.
That's where Machine Studio comes in.
Welders Love Stickers
If you've spent any time around welding shops, you've probably seen it.
Toolboxes covered in stickers.
Welding machines covered in stickers.
Shop refrigerators covered in stickers.
Work benches covered in stickers.
Hard hats covered in stickers.
Sometimes it feels like a welder's toolbox is basically a traveling billboard.
And that's one of the reasons I've been using Machine Studio for my own stickers for the past few years.
I've had both JonnySWeld and Slag Tag Media stickers made there, including stickers I've taken to FABTECH.
I've also connected Machine Studio with ScrapFest, and the ScrapFest event stickers for the past two years have been produced there as well.
So if you've seen a JonnySWeld sticker, Slag Tag Media sticker or ScrapFest sticker floating around, there's a good chance it came out of Machine Studio.
The Sticker Connection Goes Beyond Welding
One of the things I like about Machine Studio is that their products cross over into several different creative worlds.
A graffiti artist might use a paint marker to create artwork.
A metal artist might use the same type of marker to lay out a sculpture.
A welder might use a marker to mark a cut line.
A fabricator might use one to identify parts or make layout marks.
And then that same welder might turn around and slap a custom sticker on their toolbox.
Different industries.
Same basic idea.
Make something. Mark it. Personalize it. Make it yours.
That's one of the reasons I think Machine Studio is such an interesting stop for people coming to FABTECH.
And Yes, They Carry Markal Markers
Here's another reason this caught my attention.
Machine Studio also carries Markal markers, which is a brand many welders and fabricators already know and use.
I've been a big fan of Markal products for years, and their markers are a regular part of my welding and fabrication workflow.
Machine Studio has a selection of markers, pens and refills alongside its graffiti supplies.
So while you might walk into the store thinking you're there to look at graffiti supplies or pick up some stickers, you might walk out with a handful of markers you actually use in the shop.
That's a pretty good crossover.
Need FABTECH Stickers? This Could Be Your Stop
Here's the part that could be especially useful if you're coming to FABTECH.
If you're bringing stickers to hand out at the show, Machine Studio is a local option worth knowing about.
Their custom stickers are printed in the USA using American-made vinyl, and their laminated stickers are designed to resist fading and peeling.
I've personally used them for my own FABTECH stickers, and I've been happy enough with the quality to keep going back.
And if you're already going to be in Las Vegas, you're not ordering stickers from somewhere across the country and hoping they arrive before your flight.
You're working with a local Las Vegas business.
That's a pretty cool option to have in your back pocket.
A Small Business Worth Supporting
This is another reason I wanted to share Machine Studio.
FABTECH is enormous.
The 2026 show is expected to bring more than 31,000 attendees and 1,400 exhibitors to more than 700,000 square feet of exhibits at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
It's easy to spend the entire week surrounded by massive corporations and huge manufacturing operations.
But there are also small businesses throughout Las Vegas doing really interesting things.
Machine Studio is one of them.
And I've watched their business grow over the years. I've recommended them to other people, and it's been cool seeing some of those people become customers too.
That's the kind of small-business connection I like.
Add Machine Studio to Your FABTECH List
FABTECH runs October 21–23, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
You're going to see enough welding equipment at FABTECH to make your head spin.
You're going to see robots.
Lasers.
Press brakes.
Welding machines.
Automation.
Fabrication equipment.
And probably more things you've never seen before.
But when you're ready to get away from the convention center for a little while, consider taking a short trip over to Machine Studio.
Grab some stickers.
Check out the graffiti supplies.
Look through the markers.
Pick up some Markal products.
And maybe find something that inspires your next project.
Because whether you're welding a sculpture, painting a wall, designing a logo or putting a sticker on your toolbox, it's all part of the same bigger thing.
Art is art.
And sometimes the most interesting connections are the ones you don't see coming.
